The Role

We are looking for a Senior C++/Rust Developer to help build the core systems behind our marketplace. You will work on high-performance software that powers real-time trading, market connectivity, data flow, and platform reliability.

This role is a fit for an engineer who is comfortable working close to systems, performance, and architecture, and who wants to have direct impact on a modern fixed income platform.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain core platform components in C++ and Rust
• Develop high-performance services that support real-time trading workflows and market data processing
• Improve system latency, throughput, reliability, and operational visibility
• Build API and service-layer integrations that make the platform easier to adopt and scale
• Collaborate closely with leadership, product, and market experts to turn trading and workflow needs into robust software
• Debug complex production issues and implement practical, durable fixes
• Help shape engineering standards, architecture decisions, and development practices across the platform

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building production systems in C++ or Rust
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience building latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems
• Strong understanding of systems programming, concurrency, networking, and performance optimization
• Experience designing and maintaining backend or distributed systems with high reliability requirements
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases in production systems
• Strong engineering judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
• Clear communication skills and a pragmatic approach to solving hard technical problems
• Comfort operating in a startup environment with broad ownership

Nice to Have

• Experience in capital markets, trading systems, market data, or financial infrastructure
• Familiarity with low-latency system design and performance tuning
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, and real-time event-driven architectures
• Experience with Redis, FIX Protocol, ZeroMQ, and AWS
• Knowledge of fixed income markets, electronic trading, or marketplace-style systems

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to help build the user-facing applications and platform workflows behind our fixed income marketplace. This role will focus on developing modern web applications in TypeScript with React and Next.js, while working closely with Rust-based backend services that power trading, market data, and platform operations.

You will contribute across the stack, with strong ownership of the frontend experience, including designing and building components, pages, interaction patterns, and application workflows that make complex trading and data interactions intuitive and reliable. This is a strong fit for an engineer who can translate product requirements into thoughtful user-facing interfaces, exercise strong UI and UX judgment, and deliver robust software backed by REST APIs, WebSockets, and PostgreSQL.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build frontend components, pages, and user workflows in React and Next.js
• Own the structure and implementation of user-facing features, from reusable components to page-level experiences
• Partner with product and leadership to turn complex requirements into clear, usable interfaces
• Develop responsive, performant frontend experiences for trading workflows, market data views, and internal tools
• Integrate frontend applications with Rust-based backend services through REST APIs and WebSocket connections
• Partner with backend engineers to define API contracts, data models, and service interactions

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience designing and building production frontend applications with TypeScript and React
• Experience with Next.js in production environments preferred
• Strong product and UI judgment, with the ability to translate requirements into clear, usable application flows
• Experience designing, consuming, and integrating REST APIs in full-stack applications
• Experience building or working with WebSocket-based real-time application features
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases in production systems
• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, state management, performance, and debugging
• Experience working across frontend and backend boundaries in a service-based architecture
• Strong proficiency with Git and collaborative software development workflows
• Strong engineering judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
• Familiarity with observability, testing, and deployment practices for production web applications

The role

We're hiring an originator to own GTM and shape the function. This is a hunter seat — you'll run the top of the funnel, drive full-cycle deals, and personally sign the brokerages, advisory platforms, asset managers, and dealers that will shape OpenYield's next chapter. You'll also help us productize and sell our data services, working across the buy-side and sell-side.

You'll work directly with the founder and product/engineering leadership. We have a foundation to build on — live customers, real pipeline, a CRM, working systems — but the function is yours to shape and own. You'll keep what works, rip out what doesn't, and codify the way OpenYield sells from here. Over time, this seat can scale into a leadership role as we grow the team around you, but day one is about closing business.

We're looking for someone who is unusually tech-forward. Capital markets sales is changing fast, and the people who win the next decade will be the ones who treat AI, automation, and rigorous process as core competencies — not afterthoughts. You should be the kind of person who would rather build a workflow than do the same thing twice.

What you'll do

• Originate. Prospect into brokerages, RIAs, asset managers, dealers, and data buyers — by phone, email, Bloomberg IB chat, in person, and through your network.
• Run full-cycle deals from first touch through technical eval, integration scoping, contract, and go-live.
• Sell across the stack: trading access, platform integrations, and data license. 
• Sharpen the GTM motion. Refine our ICPs, segment the market, tighten the pitch, and instrument the funnel.
• Translate market signal into product. You'll be the closest seat to our customers — what you hear should shape the roadmap.
• Compound your output. Evolve our CRM, sequencing, enrichment, AI agents, and reporting so one seller can cover a market this big.
• Represent OpenYield with senior buy-side and sell-side counterparties — heads of trading, fixed income tech leads, COOs, CIOs.
• Forecast accurately and report cleanly to the executive team.

What we're looking for

• A track record selling into capital markets — fixed income preferred, but strong equities, derivatives, or market data backgrounds welcome. Years matter less than what you've actually closed and how you operate.
• Demonstrated originator. You can point to logos you personally sourced and closed, not deals you inherited.
• Real fluency in trading workflows, OMS/EMS integrations, FIX, APIs, and how a platform actually plugs into a brokerage or asset manager.
• Comfort selling to both the buy-side and sell-side, and selling data products in addition to platform access.
• Tech-forward and AI-native. You already use LLMs daily, you've built or wired together tools to compound your own output, and you have opinions about which parts of a sales motion should be automated.
• Process-oriented. You instrument what you do, measure it, and improve it.
• Early-stage temperament. You're energized by ambiguity, you ship without a manager telling you to, and you can build the function while you're hitting your number.
• Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain a fixed income microstructure problem to a CTO and an API integration to a head of trading.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Why this seat

Fixed income is in the middle of its biggest structural change in 25 years, and OpenYield is one of a small number of companies actually rebuilding the infrastructure underneath it. You'd own the GTM seat at a venture-backed startup with real distribution, real volume, real backing from the largest market makers on the planet, and a long runway to build the franchise. The ceiling on this role is the ceiling of the company.

Compensation

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $200,000 plus variable incentive compensation tied to commercial performance. Placement within this range is dependent on level of experience. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
